Abstract

In July 2024, year on year (y-on-y), Denpasar Municipality experienced inflation of 3.04 percent with a Consumer Price Index of 107.30.

Annual inflation (y-on-y) occurred due to the increase in prices of observed commodities as indicated by the increase in the CPI in nine expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group rose as high as 4.19 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group as high as 0.17 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group as high as 1.44 percent; transportation group as high as 3.77 percent; information, communication and financial services group as high as 0.12 percent; recreation, sports and culture groups as high as 2.70 percent; education group as high as 3.20 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group as high as 8.39 percent; and the personal care and other services group as high as 2.57 percent. Meanwhile, two groups recorded a decline in the index, namely the clothing and footwear group, which fell by 0.12 percent; and the health group at 0.89 percent.

On a monthly basis (month to month / m-to-m), Denpasar Municipality recorded inflation of 0.16 percent. Meanwhile, year to date (y-to-d), inflation was recorded at 1.87 percent.
