The Overview of the Denpasar Municipality Consumer Price Index May 2025

In May 2025, Denpasar Municipality recorded a year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate of 2.48 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 110.13. This annual inflation was driven by rising prices in ten expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco (1.72%); clothing and footwear (2.08%); housing, water, electricity, and household fuels (2.17%); household equipment and routine maintenance (2.75%); health (5.35%); transportation (0.20%); recreation, sports, and culture (0.46%); education (4.00%); food and beverage/restaurant services (4.13%); and personal care and other services (6.69%). Meanwhile, one group experienced a decline in index, namely information, communication, and financial services (-0.87%). On a month-to-month (m-to-m) basis, Denpasar recorded a deflation of 0.16 percent, while year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation stood at 1.82 percent.
