Abstract

In April 2024, Denpasar Municipality experienced year on year (y-on-y) inflation as high as 3.94 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.42.

Annual inflation (y-on-y) occurred due to the increase in prices of observed commodities as indicated by the increase in ten expenditure group indices, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 8.43 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.05 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.92 percent; health group by 0.12 percent; transportation group at 1.12 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.24 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.71 percent; education group at 6.12 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 6.35 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 3.99 percent. Meanwhile, the index for the expenditure group that experienced a decline was the clothing and footwear group by 0.46 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Denpasar City in April 2024 are 0.53 and 1.98 percent respectively.
